The HCV Rapid Test is a qualitative, membrane based immunoassay for the detection of antibodies to HCV in samples. The membrane is pre-coated with recombinant HCV antigen on the test line region of the cassette. During testing, the specimen reacts with recombinant HCV antigen conjugate colloid gold.
A reactive or positive antibody test means you have been infected with the hepatitis C virus at some point in time. â–º Once people have been infected, they will always have antibodies in their blood.
