Hepatitis C viral load

What is HCV Quant.?
Hepatitis is a viral infection that majorly affects liver. This test is also known as hep C RNA test measures the amount of hepatitis C virus often referred as “viral load” in the blood. The test is used to determine the quantity of virus before the treatment as well as during the treatment to check the progress. The response of the treatment is considered as good if the viral load drops and eventually become undetectable in blood.

 

Why is HCV Quant. done?
To monitor the response to treatment.
To detect recurrence of disease.
